Frosty Night

Image
Happy Wednesday things: When I left for work my car was covered with a thick layer of frost or thin layer of ice or a combination. When I got to work I noticed all the patterns on my rooftop. Even though I was running later than I wanted to, I took some pictures because, pretty. Work was good. It was one of the few times that the building seemed cold. This was great when I was moving around a lot. Once they moved me to Problem Solve, I put on my fleece. Everyone was home when I got back from work. Keziah has been busy cooking for Thanksgiving. Zed works from home or the store. Gideon has the long weekend off from school. They were just finishing lunch. There was enough for me to have some too. I'm kind of amazed at how much I relaxed when there was food ready that I didn't have to prepare. Zed went to work from the store after lunch so he could be available to the helpers there.  The rest of us did more prep work for tomorrow.  I'm still not sure what I'll b...

Cold Night

Here are some happy things from today: Sleeping outside last night was a good learning experience.  The temperature was supposedly around 21 degrees.  I will need to find more light weight things to keep me warm when the nights are cold and I am backpacking.  I didn't have to go to the house last night to get warm because I had my heavy wool cloak to use along with my regular sleeping bag, sack, and air mattress.  That cloak most likely won't be with me when I backpack.   Frost on my tent when I got up. HotHands are fantastic!  Those are something I can put into my pack.  The one I had last night lasted more than the advertised twelve hours.  It was still warm on my drive home in the afternoon. After continuing to visit with friends and helping with cleanup all morning I made the drive home, unpacked the car, and rested most of the day.  I fell asleep before I could finish writing this.  It was a nice but tiring weekend.  I fel...

Frost

Here are some happy things from today: It was a cold night that left the world near me covered with a layer of glistening frost. On Friday, I took an extra shift for today. Ever since then, I've been thinking of things to do today and then reminding myself that I had to work.  I'm happy to say that today I remembered and got to work on time this morning.  I only worked a little less than three hours, but money is good. After work, I was able to be productive.  I did the dishes and laundry.  I also sorted through some things and recycled or shredded some paper.  I found my Halloween jewelry, a little late. 👻 I did some more crocheting.   I think it is too big and won't work.  However, I want to try.  ☮ Currently listening to: The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity , by David Graeber & David Wengrow. Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.
