Some happy things from today: Bel, my youngest, leaves this weekend.  Today was our day to go for a hike.  Knowing that the parking lot was supposed to be closed, we headed for Mount Major.  There were quite a few cars parked on the street near the construction by the closed Mount Major lot, so we drove on.  After searching, we found a different hike and ended up climbing Belknap Mountain using the East Guilford Trail.  It has one of the Fire Towers in NH that is on my Bucket List .  Yay, an item checked off on my bucket list! Along the hike we saw somethings including salamanders, a garter snake, and different varieties of mushrooms and mosses.  I am pleased to say that although the mosquitoes and other insects weren't nonexistent, they were very few. _ Bel The Fire Tower at the top was recently renovated.  Had the day been clear, the view would have been spectacular.  Had the day been clear, the temperatures would have been higher.  ...

Busy Monday

Happy Monday! This morning I puttered, sorting through random boxes.  I really wanted to find something significant to get rid of.  I wanted to feel like I was really downsizing.  I finally decided that it was time to get rid of my grandson, Gideon’s, old stuffed animals: Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore.  They sat towards the back of my previous bedroom.  I'm not sure why, but I don't want them in my current bedroom.  Eeyore is the character I used to think I identified with the most.  I love all the characters from the Christopher Robin books.  I think I always wanted the energy of Tigger and Winnie’s curiosity and love.  But Eeyore, alone and frumpy, is who I identified with inside.  Forgive me while I psychoanalyze myself.  When Gideon decided he had outgrown those three stuffed animals, I wanted them.  Most importantly, Eeyore.  But then, Eeyore should not be alone.  He needed his friends with him.  It t...
