2024 Happy Blog Challenge Continues

Some happy things from today: Keziah and I made it to the Sunday morning Closing Ceremonies for the event.  The competition was to see who could kill the most Vorpal Rabbits.  The scores were close, but it looked like Stonemarche and friends killed more than the Province of Malagentia and friends did.  In the end, we decided that the Vorpal Rabbits were defeated, and that was the most important part of the weekend. We were supposed to be off the event site by noon.  We didn't make it.  It was almost two before we left.  The heat slowed us down a lot.  Stopping for shade and water every few tasks was more important than getting out on time.  I've heard from members of our group and it looks like we made it home safely.  I had someone drive me to the event, but I drove myself home.  I'm very thankful to a long call with TF who helped me stay awake driving home. Happy Saturday SCA things: A few days ago I ordered something that was delivered after I left for the event.  Gideon was driven up with a friend and they were kind enough to bring the box to the event as well.  Because of that, I was able to fly my banner outside our tent.   It is never a good thing when an ambulance shows up at an event.  Today in the heat one of my champions fell on the field and was brought to the hospital.  I am so thankful that they made it back to the event to tell their story. There was a vorpal rabbit archery shoot that I took the time to do.  I shot it twice, the first time I misunderstood the rules and so I counted that as a practice.  The second time I scored a total of 20 points out of the 21 possible.  It was a fun shoot.
