Spring Flower

Happy Wednesday!  Here a are some things that I am happy and grateful for today: Yesterday at work doing Problem Solve the exercise I got was mostly brain work.  Last night the jobs I did were extra physical.  I picked things up and put them down or pushed large carts from one place to another all night.  Today I am happy that I made it through the night and didn't give up and come home early.  The last two hours I got to work outside.  It is a beautiful day, so that helped. After a much needed nap, I had a fruitful conversation with TF.  One of the things we discussed was adding more plant foods to our diets.  Variety being important.  It was a good conversation that reminded me of a book I should read.   The flower that many people dread has bloomed in the yard.  A very important spring plant that provides pollen for bees and food or dyes for humans.  I don't expect to harvest any myself this year, but I have in the past...

Thankful Thursday

Thursday things to be thankful and happy for: Work was offering voluntary time off today.  I did not take any.  The supervisor really wanted people to leave.  I basically told him thanks, maybe next week, when my son is visiting and I'll want to be home. I'm excited to be able to see Bel when they are here next week sometime.   Gideon and I stopped by Keziah’s store,  DIY Craft & Thrift, briefly to pick up some school work Gideon had left there.  Keziah was busy painting a new fixture. Yesterday, I noticed the iris plants coming up in the back garden area by where we park the cars.  I didn't notice them in the front triangle area.  Today, I noticed them in the triangle area.  Still no crocus, which I expected to see first.  I'm thankful for the signs of spring. My protégé sent home with Keziah late holiday gifts.  She is so thoughtful!  I'm going to try to find the time to take her out to dinner to thank her. ☮  l...

Some grateful and happy things from today: Thursday is the last day of my work week.  It is also payday.  I've been changing up the way I budget my money.  So far, so good.  I'm saving more!  Yay! Zed is also trying to update his budget.  There is an app that he is considering using that looks like it has some potential. We talked a bit about the old school ways to budget money compared to the ways people tend to do it now. The “envelope” method is why everything that my mom had needed to be gone through, just in case there was money stuck somewhere.  I think we've gone through enough that I'm pretty sure she spent her envelope savings.  Some of the conveniences of online banking are wonderful, though, and I am thankful for that today. Nanni and Winston started playing with their doughnut toy again tonight.  It allows one of them to be inside the doughnut and the other outside to play with each other.   Winston (orange tabby) and Na...
