Happy Monday

Image
My youngest, Bel, made it home safely to Maryland today.  Here are some other happy things from today: The chores I set forth to do today were accomplished. The weather was iffy so my friend Amy and I walked and talked at the mall today.  She is really good at reminding me of things I might need to do.  I still hadn't reached my step goal when we left.  With only 600 steps to go, I decided to pace outside while writing this to reach the 10,000 step goal.  What sounded like a cat bird yelled at me most of that time. There is a thing I have had for my hair that I seldom use.  It is called “Twist ‘n’ Style.”  On a whim I used it to put my braids up.  I twisted them some and then let the ends of the braids stay free.  The result is that my hair looks shorter from the front, and it looks okay from the back.  Amy took a picture so I could see what it looked like. ☮ Continued listening to: The Farthest Shore , by Ursula K. Le Guin. Thank you fo...

Friends for Friday

Image
The amount of downsizing I did was minimal.⁵  Some things got moved around and thrown away.  Mostly I puttered.  Here are some happy Friday things: After being awake far too long yesterday, it was super hard to get out of bed today.  That didn't help my productivity.  I believe it did help my mood though, so that was good. The banner I've been working on got a little more green paint.  I'm hoping to get back to the studio tomorrow to finish it up. My friend Amy came to the studio to hang out, go for a walk, and participate in Tech Night.  We walked a little on a Winant Park trail.  Both of us decided that hills are hard, even short ones.  We might be looking for more hills to climb this summer. There were at least eight people who came to Craft Night to work on their East Kingdom Wiki pages.  I noticed that we all seemed to have a a good time and it seemed to be productive.  This morning I did a silly thing with my hair.  ...

Bel

Happy things from today: This morning, Bel, my youngest, arrived for a visit.  I missed their first arrival to the house, everyone thought I was asleep.  They left with Keziah and came back and I got to see them then.  Bel drove most of the night to get here this morning.  It is wonderful to have them nearby, even though it is just for a short time. Keziah and I went to the cafe to meet with friends and left the rest of the family at home.  I needed breakfast and everyone else had eaten.  I have a list of things to research or write about when I go to the cafe on Sunday mornings.  Today that was mostly about hair cutting in the middle ages.  I think having a set time to write or do research (mostly) weekly will help me reach some small goals. Since Bel drove all night, it was a nice lazy afternoon.  In the evening we all had dinner together and watched a movie.  The movie, Princess Mononoke , is one that I remember that we went to see in...
