Yay, Thursday!

Some happy things from today:  As I left for work this week the moon has been radiant.   My work week is over.   I made dinner tonight and people liked it.  It was just a meat and potatoes kind of meal.  When I talked with my doctor the other day, ways to improve my poor eating habits were discussed.  I'm going to try to incorporate some better choices and this was a start. Tomorrow a friend and I are going camping for the weekend.  This is the first time in YEARS that I have gone camping that isn't SCA camping.  I don't need medieval clothing or a coronet on my head.  I think I've mostly packed.  I still need to pack clothes because it was laundry day and I'm at the point where I need to choose to sleep instead of fold clothes.  They will fit in my big backpack.  While camping this weekend, I'm not sure if I will have service for my phone to post my blog.    My red pack will be for day use. The big on...

If It's Tuesday I Have to Work

Image
Happy Tuesday!  All day I had to remind myself that it was Tuesday and not Wednesday.  Working yesterday threw off my days!  I was assigned to the Problem Solve area today.  Even though it can be frustrating sometimes, it is still my favorite place to work at this job.  I think part of the reason is that I get to use my brain more.   At home I got most of my things packed for Pennsic.  Tomorrow I'll double check my lists, but I think all I have left are those things that need to wait until the end. Keziah hurt her leg, this is not good, and doesn't make me happy.  The doctor says it is a strain, maybe with some minor tearing.  They want her to use crutches if possible for the next few weeks to help it heal.  Keziah put out a call to her friends to see if she could borrow some.  I remembered that there were some in the cellar when we moved here.  This resulted in some jokes about not wanting to use the haunted crutches that...

Home Again

Some happy things from today: Keziah and I made it to the Sunday morning Closing Ceremonies for the event.  The competition was to see who could kill the most Vorpal Rabbits.  The scores were close, but it looked like Stonemarche and friends killed more than the Province of Malagentia and friends did.  In the end, we decided that the Vorpal Rabbits were defeated, and that was the most important part of the weekend. We were supposed to be off the event site by noon.  We didn't make it.  It was almost two before we left.  The heat slowed us down a lot.  Stopping for shade and water every few tasks was more important than getting out on time.  I've heard from members of our group and it looks like we made it home safely.  I had someone drive me to the event, but I drove myself home.  I'm very thankful to a long call with TF who helped me stay awake driving home. At home I pushed myself to get the car emptied and to get some of the unpacking...

Back to Work

Image
Some happy things from today: It was a long work day in the Problem Solve Area.  I stayed about an hour and a half late.   Because of that, I know things are better for whoever works in Problem Solve tomorrow.  That makes me feel good.   At home I finished packing everything for camping this weekend that I don't need to use before I leave.  I'll pack those few items before I head to work tomorrow.  Everything else Keziah can bring in the trailer and minivan. Here are some pictures of other things that made me happy today.  Queen Anne's lace  Nanni The back, before the rains came. ☮ Currently listening to:  A Mystic's Work Julian of Norwich , by Professor Christina M. Carlson, Ph.D.  This seems to be a recording of a course. Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.

Roses and Packing

Image
Happy things from Wednesday: My work day went well.  There is new equipment that I've been trying to get used to.  My rate per hour was pretty good and I'm happy about that. More roses!! At home I took a break before undertaking my packing task.  I've got most of the items I need together in one place.  Some are packed, some not.  I should have enough time in the morning to finish.  I'm working a part shift tonight.   The reality of going off to Canada tomorrow with friends hit me today. I'm so excited, I hope I can fall asleep.  I'm not sure if I will have any service to be able to blog over the next few days.  If I lose my DuoLingo streak, it was at 1991 today.   I should return home on Sunday.   ☮ Finished listening to: My Name is Barbra , by Barbra Streisand.  I'm thankful for the ability to speed up how fast the recording plays.  This is one less thing to have to try to fit in while I am away.  Tha...
