Boo Cat

Image
Here are some happy Monday things: This morning, as I avoided getting out of bed, I swiped to this reel:  LINK .  If you aren't able to watch that video, let me just say that the person was suggesting that people aren't necessarily lacking motivation as much as they need to work on being more disciplined.  I'm not saying that he is correct, or that my interpretation is correct.  I have mixed feelings on this. I am saying it got me out of bed.  🙂 Keziah and I spent some time at the studio organizing things.  Between the arts & sciences over the weekend, researching my cousin Mary and  buttons, and spending time at the studio; I'm feeling inspired.  Keziah has been working on carving linoleum to do printing.  She has been selling some prints as patches.  I'm going to try to work more on projects, too. A friend has a cat they were given that doesn't like their dogs.  We are going to try and see if our cats will accept them....

Happy November

Image
It is hard for me to believe that it is November already.  The weather has been warmer than normal, making it seem more like spring.  Here are some happy things from today: This morning I spent some time cleaning.  I opened the windows for a while and let the warm, fresh air into the apartment.  I even cleaned the freezer. My friend Amy came to visit.  Concord's First Friday theme was Artwalk.  After visiting with Keziah and friends Amy & I walked around the city.  We enjoyed seeing what the artisans were selling.  Mostly, we walked around the city. As night settled in we picked up some food and headed for Craft Night.  After rummaging through some things in the studio I found some jewelry making supplies.  It seemed as good a time as any to try some of that again.  Some people in the SCA are calling this Novice November.  It is to inspire creativity with new crafts.  I decided to use some of the jewelry making supplie...

Self-care

Image
Today's happy things: It was another down day.  Perhaps I should be calling it a self-care day.  I spent a good portion of the day reading Saving Nora .  I got to a point in this online book that no more seems to be released.  I hope to not find another book like this again.  Although I enjoy reading trilogies and series, this feels more like a soap opera.  That said, it was nice to just read for a while today. TF, my friend from Texas, called today.  We haven't talked much lately because Bel was visiting and there were so many things going on.  It was nice to catch up. Zed and I ran to the store tonight to get cookies.  It was the first time I made it outside since yesterday morning when I tried to go to the event.  It was nice to get outside for a few minutes. Keziah got herself some new alcohol markers.  I know very little about this type of art.  She draws so well!  I don't think I am saying that just because she is my...

Leap Day

Image
Happy things from Leap Day: There were opportunities for me to not go to work last night.  I didn't take them.  I got out of work about two hours early to start my weekend.  I was able to use some of my swag bucks (fake money work gives people for doing things, sometimes that is just showing up) to get a new backpack.  I'm planning to use it to bring my lunch and other work related belongings to work.  It is nice though, and I may get another to use as a computer bag instead of my Camelbak backpack.   At home I took a nap.  It was a good nap.  Sometimes I have a hard time sleeping Thursdays, today that was not a problem. At Keziah’s store she has a plant.  Recently she repotted it and the plant looks a lot happier. My ex-husband, his wife, and I went to the Mansion at the Kimball-Jenkins School of Art.  Our friend, Robert, gave us the tour.  I've done it before, but there always seems to be something new to notice or something ...
