Boxing Day

Image
Happy Boxing Day! Here are some happy things from my day. This morning, early, I had a mental list of the things I wanted to get accomplished. It was too early to do any of those things so I let myself be distracted by games, reading, and my Amazon Wishlist. Later, I went to spend time with the family. It was a relaxing day. Around 4:30 in the afternoon I suddenly realized that I had goals for the day that I didn’t do! A few internet searches later and I was out the door. The dealership was still open so I could purchase a new gas cap for my car, yay! This is the day that the town office is open until seven so I got my car registered, yay! I made an appointment to get my brakes fixed tomorrow morning, yay! Perhaps next time I have important, time sensitive items to do I will write them down or set an alarm on my phone so I don’t forget.  😂 The sky as I headed to the town offices. The reason I needed a gas cap was because my check engine light turned on and that was the si...

Helping Hands

Happy things from today: This morning I thought about picking up a small shift at work.  Really, I did.  I chose to do nothing but scroll the internet and rest my body from a busy weekend.  There were Facebook discussions about many different class ideas I would like to take, like wood carving and knot tying.  The internet kept me entertained this morning.  In the afternoon Keziah and I went to help a friend move.  They were all packed up and just wanted help cleaning the place up.  It feels good to be helpful. ☮ Currently listening to: Tales From Earthsea , by Ursula K. Le Guin. Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.

Self-care

Today's happy things: It was another down day.  Perhaps I should be calling it a self-care day.  I spent a good portion of the day reading Saving Nora .  I got to a point in this online book that no more seems to be released.  I hope to not find another book like this again.  Although I enjoy reading trilogies and series, this feels more like a soap opera.  That said, it was nice to just read for a while today. TF, my friend from Texas, called today.  We haven't talked much lately because Bel was visiting and there were so many things going on.  It was nice to catch up. Zed and I ran to the store tonight to get cookies.  It was the first time I made it outside since yesterday morning when I tried to go to the event.  It was nice to get outside for a few minutes. Keziah got herself some new alcohol markers.  I know very little about this type of art.  She draws so well!  I don't think I am saying that just because she is my...

Drinking Water

Some happy things from today: At work, I was assigned to the Problem Solve area.  This is always good.  However, I also got to train someone else for that task.  I'm not a Learning Ambassador, but it was nice to train someone. At home, I chose down time.  I even took a nap.  The alarm I set to wake me so I could get Gideon at school, did not keep me awake.  Thankfully, Zed was home and woke me up.  Hopefully I'll be able to fall asleep when I need to.  Gideon wants to start an after school improv club.  Nanni, our brown tabby, is still not as happy as we would like.  She was drinking water this afternoon and I was told she ate some today.  These are very good things.  Drinking water. I didn't want the flash to distract her. ☮ Started listening to: Happiness for Beginners , by Katherine Center.   Still reading the book I didn't intend to, Saving Nora .  The author appears to be Josh Williams.   Thank you...

Self-care Morning

Image
Happy Monday things: It was a busy weekend.  Most of this morning I spent relaxing.  I played some games on my phone and read a bunch more of the book, Saving Nora .  Nanni, our brown tabby, was feeling well enough to be on my bed and I gave her lots of attention.  It was a self-care morning.  In the afternoon I brought Nanni to the vet and met Keziah there. Nanni got a brief appointment and an x-ray.  The blockage that has been causing so many problems, seems to be gone!  We are all very happy that she seems to be on the mend. At home, I went in search of crocuses.  I found some!   These are some that I planted in the fall. I don't think this is a crocus, it might be a tulip. ☮ Started listening to: Happiness for Beginners , by Katherine Center.   --I watched the movie a few months ago. Still reading the book I didn't intend to, Saving Nora .  The author appears to be Josh Williams.   Thank you for being p...
