For September 27th

Image
On September 27th I had no internet.  I took some time and wrote the Blog on my phone.  I thought it hadn't saved, but I just found it!  I'll be writing today's blog tomorrow though.  We hiked around eight miles today and I'm exhausted.  My apologies that the pictures aren't always in the correct order: September 27th.  When I chose Mountain Pond as the place we would be camping, I didn't expect that we would be the only ones camping here.  The backcountry can be a scary place and I am so very happy that I asked Stephanie to join me.  As I begin this entry, there are birds chirping, getting ready for sleep.  That, the sound of leaves and needles falling to the ground, and the occasional mosquito or other insect is what I hear.  Soon, there will be footsteps as Stephanie makes her way back to camp.  We have hung the food away from our camping area and our tents are waiting for us to enter them once it is dark. Here are some hap...

A Really Long Post

Image
It was a long day with many things that happened.  Here are some happy things: It is sometime after midnight when I first step outside and experience fresh air.  There is the slightest breeze, the moon is close to full and everything feels open and clean.  It was a lovely start to my day. This one needs more information... Background info part 1: I work in a distribution center where packages come in and we sort them to be delivered to customers.  We don't put things into boxes, but sometimes things are damaged and we repackage them in the Problem Solve area into new packaging.  For the last few months the packing supplies haven't been getting replenished.  We have been making due with small envelopes, really small boxes and really big boxes.  We have gone through a lot of tape when we should be replacing a box or envelope. Background info part 2: There is a person I work with sometimes in Problem Solve that works there more than I and knows a lot....

Progress

A few happy things for today: This morning I was able to get more cleaning done in the apartment.  Mostly in the bathroom.  It turns out that I was using the wrong cleaner for the shower.  I'll pick something else up to clean it later. I got the car registered. Gideon needed a ride home from school.  When he opened the car door there was a frog (toad?) on the road behind him.   My protégé came to help me assemble the bed.  It still needs the mattress, but the rest is there!  Yay!  I'm so very thankful to my protege for using her day off to come help me assemble things.  We got done late and had dinner at The Red Arrow Diner.  It was the only place I could think of that was still open. ☮ Continued listening to: Earthsea: The Tombs of Atuan, by Ursula K. Le Guin. Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.
