Happy Earth Day! The momentum from yesterday and the cleaning I did, remained for a little while to organize this morning before my therapy appointment. It felt good.   Outside I noticed that it won't be long before the tulips start to bloom.  The daffodils are doing well. Tulip Daffodils  After therapy, Keziah, Gideon, and I traveled to Ikea.  On the way, we stopped at the bank so Keziah could make a business deposit.  My job as a passenger, was to count the money and prepare it for the teller.  Driving down the highway while I counted, Keziah called it, “Highspeed accounting.”  🤣 Ikea is doing some remodeling, so it was smaller than usual.  We were still there for hours.  Gideon ended up with a clearanced floor model mattress.  That was fun to get into the van!  I think I still have the straps for moving my mattress, that will help in the next few days as we start moving things. Some random pictures I took of nature on the d...

Here are some happy things from today: Last night I slept, better than I expected, on my friend's couch in Maine.  This morning we went out for a nice breakfast followed by a little more cleaning of the house.  It was a very nice visit.  I wish I had remembered to take some pictures. On the drive home we went by a pond that I noticed a beaver hut in.  The interesting part is that there was a tree that seemed to be growing out of the beaver hut.  Again, I wish I had been able to take a picture.  The hut seemed to be in the middle of the pond.  I wonder if the water was just really high and the hut was closer to land than it appeared.  At home, the daffodils are blooming! In the evening, Zed and I briefly attended a small gathering of people who were talking about death.  It was called the Death Cafe .  We arrived late enough that we didn't hear too many stories.  I wasn't comfortable enough to share anything.  Maybe if I attend ...

Some happy things from today: The forsythia bush is blooming.  My memories on Facebook showed a picture from two years ago with the yellow forsythia flowers so I made a point of looking today, and there they are!  It has been rainy most of the week, so the color is nice. The daffodils are just starting to open and the hyacinth is a little bigger.  I should spend more time out in the yard.  It is nice to see them growing. Daffodils  Hyacinth  Both our cats are family cats.  However, Winston tends to gravitate towards Keziah.  Nanni gravitates towards me, at least on my days off.  Today Winston jumped up onto my bed, and then me.  He made himself comfortable on my abdomen.    Winston Gideon has been away at camp with school this week.  I picked him up this afternoon.  It was so good to see him!  We went right to the store so he could see his parents. Keziah and Gideon. Not the best photo. Part of my plan for today ...

Happy things for this lovely Tuesday: It was supposed to be a working day, but we got home so late last night and I hadn't slept so I took a personal day.  After sleeping later than I wanted to I still felt pretty drained, so I am glad I was able to take the time off. I didn't figure out what a beautiful day it was outside until the afternoon.  I got my errands run and I got the sump pump to work.  Two good things checked off my list. A walk around the yard showed me that the crocus plants have recovered quite nicely.  A few maybe were squashed by the snow, or maybe they were older, the rest look great.  The daffodils are getting closer to blooming.  Next to the daffodils something purple is coming up.  I think it is a hyacinth, but I don't remember from last year.  I know I planted something new in that area last year, but I don't expect that to come up. Daffodils and ?  Crocuses Here are some more pictures from yesterday's total solar...

Closer to Spring

Happy Monday things: This morning I had therapy.  Sometimes I don't know what to talk about.  Today I feel like I had a plan.  It didn't go completely as I hoped, but I feel like it went better than usual.  This is a happy thing. Nanni, our cat that has been sick, is doing much better.  Last time I wrote that, I admit I was still concerned.  She seems almost her old self now and we are all very happy for that. Sleeping Nanni. Outside, the daffodils are getting bigger.  The buds are visible.  The crocus plants seem to be coming up in bits.  There were the few last week, and a few this week. Tuesday things I am happy for: When I got to work, I thought I was prepared for whatever task they wanted to assign me.  I was wrong.  They had me unload the carts for the person inducting the packages.  This means that I picked up packages and put them down for over six hours.  The heaviest one I noticed was 46 pounds. In over two and a half years at this workplace, this is the second time I've been assigned this task.  It was hard, manual labor, and I did it!  I think I will sleep well today. Keziah is trying to find and/or make garb for Bel for the SCA event this weekend.  So far, she found an under tunic that seems to fit.  She plans to make a doublet to go over that. Since I noticed the iris peaking through a few days ago I have been checking the yard more often.  Today I noticed that the daffodils have broken ground as well.  Spring is on the way! ☮ Currently listening to Cat's Cradle , by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. Still reading the book I...
