Happy Halloween

Image
Happy Thursday things: At work, I helped to train people all night. One of the things I think I said most was some variation of, "Bend at your knees." What I want to work into my coaching time more is that mistakes are good learning opportunities. On a personal note, I should try to learn more from my mistakes. 😂 Pretty much all I did for Halloween was wear my "This is my Halloween costume" t-shirt. After work I ate, did my last Inktober drawing and went to sleep. It was supposed to be a nap. I really should learn from my mistakes and set an alarm. The final Inktober prompt was landmark. I went to my photos and pencil drew a geomarker that I saw on one of my hikes. Then I drew a house because, for whatever reason, an old joke kept coming to my mind. I don't remember it well but it has to do with giving directions with a New England or maybe that classic Maine accent. Part of it was something like... you go that way, towards the Smith's house. Balloon Spiders and Ticks

Here are some of the happy things from today:  After yesterday's long day, I got up early today and went to an archery practice.  This is a different practice than I usually go to. It is in Massachusetts, about an hour away.  I used to go to this practice all the time when I was living with my aunt and my children were small.  They held a special shoot today for Halloween.  There were pictures of spiders on the targets.  There were also balloon spiders and ticks on the ground to shoot at.  When there were only a few balloons left, spears were pulled out to throw at the arachnids.   It was a fun shoot. Because of yesterday's long day, when I got home, I did some laundry and became a couch potato for most of the rest of the day.  I needed that.  The prompts I did today for Inktober are scarecrow and camera. ☮ Currently listening to: Abhorsen by Garth Nix. Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.

Halloween Howl

Here are some happy things from this Halloween Howl day: This morning I got up early for my yearly doctor's appointment with my endocrinologist.  I have Hashimoto's Disease and get my thyroid scanned and checked every year.  That is, until next time.  My scans haven't been showing any signs of change so I get to wait 18 months for the next appointment.  Yay! While walking through the grocery store I was told by two different people that they liked my shirt.  I only wear it around Halloween. Every year Concord closes up part of Main Street so the children can go trick or treating at the stores (Halloween Howl).  Keziah’s store, DIY Craft & Thrift, is part of this area.  This year she brought tables outside for the kids to stop at instead of having then come into the store.   The store remained open and became a quiet place that people would come into.  I stayed in that quiet place.  I wish I could say that I helped, but mos...
