Happy things from today: This day started so much better than yesterday.  I got up at a reasonable time and went for a walk.  It was soon after dawn.  I saw a blue heron fly from the swamp it was in. Herons are so big!  There wasn't time for a picture. According to the news, foliage is at peak in this part of the state.  Most trees have turned color, a few are a little behind.  Moon It is Sunday so I went to the cafe with a friend this morning.  It was just the two of us since the other people who usually go are currently out of state.  I ordered something a little different than I tend to and it was really good.  The company was lovely. There was archery practice today with my friend Stephanie.  Amy was there, too and three other people.  It was a good turnout.  I shot okay, but not consistently, so my scores aren't quite as high as I'd like.  It was a lot of fun.  It would be great if I could take my highest s...

Some happy Wednesday things: Yesterday I went to bed on time, but couldn't get to sleep.  I feel like the first seven hours at work I was in an autopilot/dream state.  Then I got a second wind.  I'm happy that I didn't fall asleep on the job!  🤣  I also left almost an hour early so I didn't get free pizza.  It was worth more to me to come home. At home I did a few chores and had some food.  I have been so busy that I have done very little for downsizing.  There is a binder I was trying to empty a week or two ago.  I'm happy to say that everything that I don't want anymore has been removed and either shredded or put into recycling.  I'm even happier to say the only thing left in the binder are a couple sheets of blank paper and a recipe for pretzels.  Maybe the binder can become a place for recipes?   Outside the milkweed has started to go to seed.  I'm hoping to collect the seeds and spread them out on the back prope...

Happy Juneteenth!  It is also Keziah and Zed's fourteenth wedding anniversary.  I hope they were able to do something to celebrate.  Here are some happy things from today: The other day on Facebook a memory came up where I put out to the universe things I wanted from a job.  My current job actually fits into most of what I wanted.  It was a nice reminder.  If I could move my job from nights to days, that would be almost perfect. Speaking of streaks, I almost lost my DuoLingo one the other day. I'm thankful for streak freezes. Just as my work day was coming to an end, I reached my step goal for today.  That makes two days in a row.  Sometimes I miss having a step goal streak.  Sometimes it is nice to just be. The milkweed is starting to bloom.   ☮ Currently listening to: Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity , by Peter Attia MD, Bill Gifford (Editor).  Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.
