Boxing Day

Image
Happy Boxing Day! Here are some happy things from my day. This morning, early, I had a mental list of the things I wanted to get accomplished. It was too early to do any of those things so I let myself be distracted by games, reading, and my Amazon Wishlist. Later, I went to spend time with the family. It was a relaxing day. Around 4:30 in the afternoon I suddenly realized that I had goals for the day that I didn’t do! A few internet searches later and I was out the door. The dealership was still open so I could purchase a new gas cap for my car, yay! This is the day that the town office is open until seven so I got my car registered, yay! I made an appointment to get my brakes fixed tomorrow morning, yay! Perhaps next time I have important, time sensitive items to do I will write them down or set an alarm on my phone so I don’t forget.  😂 The sky as I headed to the town offices. The reason I needed a gas cap was because my check engine light turned on and that was the si...

Just Monday

Happy things from today: It has been a few weeks since I had my yearly physical.  This morning I remembered that the doctor ordered some routine, but fasting, blood tests.  I remembered and I drank enough water beforehand.   Mondays are errand days for me.  Most of my food shopping is done for the week.  There were a couple items that were out of stock, but I can make do without them.  I've prepared my food for the work week and that is a good thing. Foliage!! Concerning Inktober, I'm behind.  I whipped something together for prompt number four.  I don't like it, but I'm sharing it anyway.  ☮ Currently listening to: The Silmarillion , by J. R. R.  Happy things for this lovely Tuesday: It was supposed to be a working day, but we got home so late last night and I hadn't slept so I took a personal day.  After sleeping later than I wanted to I still felt pretty drained, so I am glad I was able to take the time off. I didn't figure out what a beautiful day it was outside until the afternoon.  I got my errands run and I got the sump pump to work.  Two good things checked off my list. A walk around the yard showed me that the crocus plants have recovered quite nicely.  A few maybe were squashed by the snow, or maybe they were older, the rest look great.  The daffodils are getting closer to blooming.  Next to the daffodils something purple is coming up.  I think it is a hyacinth, but I don't remember from last year.  I know I planted something new in that area last year, but I don't expect that to come up. Daffodils and ?  Crocuses Here are some more pictures from yesterday's total solar...

Happy April!

Some happy things from this first day of April: It took way too long but I was finally able to fix one of my email accounts.  I've been trying to pay the bill, and the system wouldn't let me.  Thankfully a phone call did the trick.  Since I really don't like making phone calls, I tried hard not to.  I'm glad it's done. The other personal business item I took care of today was making sure all the things I need for my passport appointment tomorrow are ready.  I read over the list again and I need original and photocopied documents.  So that has been taken care of.  Hopefully it will go smoothly tomorrow.  My shopping for the week is also done.  I took a few minutes to admire the crocuses.  We might be getting 6-12 inches of snow this week, so I'm glad I thought to look at them.   It looks like the majority of the bulbs I planted by the sidewalk have blossomed.  ☮ Currently listening to: Outlive: The Science and Art of Longev...

Maple Tree

Happy Tuesday things: Yesterday I had a hard time falling asleep.  When I woke up, I was tired, but I went to work anyway.  I even stayed until the end of shift.  Some of the equipment broke down so I could have stayed later to help process more packages. I had errands to run though.  I left on time and got food for my work lunches.  Day one of my work week is over and I have food for tomorrow, yay! Sometimes when I pick my grandson, Gideon, up after school we have a conversation that is still happening when the car is parked in the driveway.  When the weather is not the best, like the cold sprinkles today, we sit and continue our talk.  Today that included Gideon starting to make up a song about how the snow should be gone because spring is here.  It was funny.  While listening I noticed that the maple tree in the front of the house has some new growth on it.  Yay, spring! My day ended as I wrote this and had a lovely cup of hot white c...
