More Water

Here are some happy things from today: Sometimes I wish I had been better at softball.  If I had, maybe I could have dunked one of the supervisors at work into the dunking tank.  That is how we ended our day, eating pizza and throwing balls at the target in order to dump someone into the tank.  It was fun watching, but not fun enough to keep me after my work day was finished.   If I was skilled in throwing a ball, maybe.  😉 The rhododendron is blooming and there are more roses blooming too.   ☮ Finished listening to: Dune , by Frank Herbert. Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.

Today's happenings: This morning I went to a cafe in Concord to meet up with friends.  There is a group of us that meet most Sundays, I don't tend to make it there often.  There is research I have been wanting to do and this is the time I set aside to do that.  The research didn't happen.  Instead we talked about secret shenanigans.  It was a good morning. In the afternoon, my friend Amy came to help me move things.  She brought me plants for the apartment!   New plants! A polka plant and a crispy wave. Keziah was taking a nap, and Zed and Gideon were at the store.  Amy and I got boxes from my old room and took them downstairs to the living room in the house. Then when a bunch of boxes were in the living room, we brought them to the apartment being careful to not let the cats out.  I didn't see the cats, but we made sure to keep the door closed. When Keziah woke up I asked if she wanted to help and that if we could lock the cats in her r...

Here are some happy things from today: Things didn't go as planned today.  The battery for the drill died.  Forward motion happened with the closet rod though, that is good and hopefully it will be up soon.   The leaves on the rose bushes have opened.  No buds yet, but it looks nice. This afternoon, my friend, Amy, and I took a walk. Here are pictures of some of the flowering trees and things we saw. Rhododendron  Lilacs Something pretty and pink Close-up. Lens thinks it might be an azalea.  Red-wing black bird White petal carpeting I'm not sure the type of tree This evening some friends in the SCA and I had another technology night discussing the Wiki pages.  This time I got to work on my page as well as a friend’s.   ☮ Started re-listening to: Seedfolks , by Paul Fleischman. Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.

Here are some happy things from today: Before work I noticed that I had some mail on the table.  My passport arrived!  Now I just need to save money again.  I could have gone to an event in Canada this weekend but I didn't expect the passport so soon.  Now I have other plans and need money since I just drained my account on a car.  June is when I am planning on going to Canada with friends.    Occasionally at work there are jobs that need to be done that involve a lot of waiting.  Last night I did quite a lot of pacing at work, just waiting for packages to arrive.  It takes me about 60 steps to walk the length of the aisle I worked in.  What part of this makes me happy?  The part where my brain kept working enough that I didn't fall asleep!  🤣  Seriously though, eventually I did think of quick things I could do to be productive while I waited. At home, the purple rhododendron is blooming.  The pink one blooms later f...

World Penguin Day

Happy Thursday things: There were  Voluntary Time Off opportunities that I missed for not working today.  Work went fine, I was just tired and have a lot to do in the apartment.   I ended up leaving 20 minutes early.  This gave me the time (and money) I needed to stop and get an extender for the paint roller.  The time off would have been nice, but I'm glad I stayed.   When I got home, I took a nap.  It was a deep, restful sleep.  I wish it was longer. In the apartment I painted more.  It seems that the former color is hard to cover.  Tomorrow I will buy more paint and things.  I have a friend coming over to help.  🙂  My goal is to finish enough of the painting tomorrow that I can start moving in on Saturday.  🤞 Looking out the window I noticed the beginnings of leaves opening.  One of the rhododendron plants is starting to show some color as well.  I love the changes that happen in spring. 🐧☮🐧...
