Here are some happy things from today: Keziah played with the cats this morning, I took pictures. While scrolling on Facebook Marketplace this morning looking for hiking things I spotted a women's puffy jacket.  It appeared to be the right size, $30, and definitely made for backpacking.  Unfortunately it was located about an hour away.  Last week I saw a similar item and chickened out.  The thought of meeting with a stranger to do something like this bothers me.  Then I looked again and saw that I knew the person selling it.  She is a teacher who used to work in the school where I was a paraeducator.  I messaged her and made the trip.  She had some other items that she was planning to donate that she offered as well.  I now have a few things that I can wear backpacking. Yesterday I wrote about Keziah's phone being broken.  Her replacement was here early this afternoon.  Things have been a little stressful lately, so getting th...

Some happy things from today: The forsythia bush is blooming.  My memories on Facebook showed a picture from two years ago with the yellow forsythia flowers so I made a point of looking today, and there they are!  It has been rainy most of the week, so the color is nice. The daffodils are just starting to open and the hyacinth is a little bigger.  I should spend more time out in the yard.  It is nice to see them growing. Daffodils  Hyacinth  Both our cats are family cats.  However, Winston tends to gravitate towards Keziah.  Nanni gravitates towards me, at least on my days off.  Today Winston jumped up onto my bed, and then me.  He made himself comfortable on my abdomen.    Winston Gideon has been away at camp with school this week.  I picked him up this afternoon.  It was so good to see him!  We went right to the store so he could see his parents. Keziah and Gideon. Not the best photo. Part of my plan for today ...

February's Penultimate Day

Happy things from today: Cats. Nanni & Winston. My storytelling telling abilities are not what I wish they were.  Suffice it to say that there were things said during breaks at work today that got me to laugh out loud.  Also at work today, I started training on working in the “yard” with the trucks.  I always like learning new things. On March 16, 2017, my pet dog, Hunter, passed away.  Today, I pulled out the cardboard box that holds his ashes.  I had never opened it.  It turns out that the ashes are in a very lovely cedar box.  I expected a bag.  It was very tastefully done, I just didn't want to see ashes and so didn't open it at the time.  I'm sure when this happened I was either told about this or read it and just didn't retain the information.  However, this weekend I will be seeing the friend that makes glass beads and can incorporate a tiny amount of the ashes into the beads.  I will give them some ashes and get the bead...
