Busy Day

Image
This morning, I expected to hurt more from yesterday's hike and I didn't.  I also had more energy than I expected.  Here are some other happy things from this lovely Monday: Keziah had a pickup this morning of donations for her store, DIY Craft & Thrift.  It was from one lady that has been donating since the beginning.  I helped fill Keziah’s van with craft supplies (mostly yarn).  Then we unloaded at the store.  The picture is the pile at the store. Afterwards, we worked in the living room of the apartment.  Things were moved around and better organized.  There is still a bunch more to do.  I'm hoping to get the room a little more usable this week, while still storing lots of boxes.   After lunch, I met friends for a walk at Livingston Park.  The park has been partly closed for renovations for a while.  It was good to be back there.  It is a more or less central location for the four of us that met there this tim...

Too Much & Not Enough Ice

Happy Saturday things: Somehow, I slept more than eight hours last night.  It has been months, and it feels pretty good. My friend, Amy, and I went for a walk at Livingston Park today.  The trail was pretty icy.  We both remembered to bring our Exospikes.  The walk went much better after we put them on.  I'm not sure if the pond there froze over completely or not this winter, but it isn’t now.  What ice there is on the pond isn't safe, and it is just the beginning of February.  If I decide to go skating, it will be at a rink this year.  With temperatures getting to around 60 degrees today, I'm glad I had short sleeves on.   Keziah had a virtual vigil for her upcoming elevation in the SCA.  In a few short weeks she will become a Laurel, the highest level award we have for the arts and sciences.  One of her good friends is also being elevated but to a Pelican, the highest award we have for service.  I got to speak with...

A Walk in the Park

Happy things from today: Spinning the wheel to determine where to put my energy for fifteen minutes has a new added benefit.  After spinning the wheel and turning to take my before picture, I heard a noise.  Nanni decided that she wanted to spin too!  That was fun to watch!   Nanni spinning the wheel. 'Desk' is what the arrow was pointing to when I spun it.  It doesn't look like much has changed after fifteen minutes, but I got rid of a bunch of old receipts and some trash.  My pockets tend to get emptied onto the desk. Before After Trash and recycling  The timer was set for Weaving too.  I didn't quite weave for fifteen minutes though.  I got to the end point of the background section and decided that starting the next pattern could wait.  Still, progress was made. Just a little more than an inch was woven today, I think. There were errands to run today.  In between, I met my friend, Amy, for a walk.  We met at Livingston...
