Slow Saturday

It wasn't a very exciting day.  Compared to my last two weekends, today was bland.  Here are some happy things from today: Much of my day I stayed in my room with Netflix and stitching.  I finished my task on the garment and it is going back to its maker to be completed.  Yay! Between the apartment and the house is some goldenrod that I've been meaning to pull.  There were at least three bees pollinating it when I walked by.  I'm glad the bees were enjoying it.  I'll try to pull it before it goes to seed. Bee on goldenrod plant.  Later in the day I took some time to shuffle through some papers.  Some are in the shred pile, but many are in the recycle bin.  A tiny step toward downsizing was achieved!  Recycling.  I've opened my window and turned off the air conditioner.   There is occasional fresh air wafting in on the breeze.  Rain is gently falling and tapping on the house and yard. ☮ Currently listening to: Tal...

Travel Day

Happy things from today: The road trip for today was just around two hours.  We stopped about halfway for lunch at a little place called Auntie T's Roadside Truck Grille.  There was more on the menu than I expected from such a small place.  They cooked the bacon in the deep fryer, so it was crisp and delicious.    The event site seems nice.  It isn't a large site.   I did my best to help my friend set up her tent.  I'm very grateful that she is letting me stay in it with her. We are part of the meal plan.  The meal plan starts tomorrow so we went out to an Indian restaurant in town.  I haven't had Indian food for a while.  It was really good.  I'm a very picky eater and there were quite a few things I would have had.  The town is a cute New England town, Greenfield, MA.  They have some lovely murals and have painted the parking meters.  Charming. ☮ Currently listening to: Tehanu , by Ursula K. Happy June!

Happy Pride Month! What I wanted to do today was to attend all of a gathering of Foresters.  I was not there by 10 AM when they started. Here are happy things from my day: What I did first was sort through some of the boxes. My goal of going through them at least a little on non-work and non-event days is important.  Yesterday I went through a box and pulled out three sweaters that will be donated.  What I didn't do was put away the other things in that box.  One of the things I need to remember as I go through the boxes is that everything needs a place.  Today I went through some more boxes and sorted them into some piles.  Some items went near boxes of paper to sort (old bills, cards, etc), some were for the studio, and even a few went into the box I made for donations.  So I'd like to think I made some progress.  Progress is good. After that, I remembered that it is the first of the month and I paid my mortgage.  Yay! Then I had a short ch...

Thursday!!

Here are some happy things from real Thursday: Towards the end of the work day I got to work with hazardous materials.  They trained me on this quite some time ago but I hadn't actually done it by myself, until today.  The best part?  I get to sit part of the time.  My feet weren't ready to fall off by the end of the day!  At the same time, I was moving enough that I didn't get tired from sitting too long. There is a plant in our yard that comes up every year that is considered invasive, celandine. If invasive isn't bad enough, it is toxic if eaten.  In my opinion, it is also pretty in its own way.  Today, I like it.  Bee!!
