Fifteen Minutes

Snow.

Here are some happy things from this snowy day:

  • When I left to go to work this morning I couldn't figure out how to unplug the car from the electrical outlet.  This happened when we first got it too, and I thought I had it figured out.  I gave up and took the van to work instead.  On the way to work I thought about all the problems that would happen (like not getting Gideon to school) if this was more than just me not being able to figure out the modern technology of this car.  I sent Keziah and Zed a message, hoping they would get it early enough if I had to leave work, and I put my name on the VTO list.  It turns out that I couldn't unplug the car because it was on!  Zed let me know that at the same time that work let me go home using Voluntary Time Off.  Yay!
  • It was my lunch time at work when I left, so I stopped at Dunkin Donuts on the way home for breakfast.  The snow had just started falling so the roads were still fine.  Breakfast was good too.  The orange juice was awesome though, so I must have needed that.
  • The what-to-organize-spinner today landed on ‘headboard’.  After fifteen minutes of cleaning and organizing I wasn't satisfied, so I kept going.  I worked on organizing it for a little more than thirty minutes and I am happy with the result.  Could it be better?  Yes, but not today and that is okay.   This is me getting things done without getting overwhelmed.  It's huge.

After

  • The other thing I'm trying to do in fifteen minute increments is weave.  Since I was home early from work there were many opportunities throughout the day.  I started and finished one design.  It probably took about two hours, maybe, all together. Next will be some more background which takes less brain power.  That is a job for tomorrow's me.

Currently listening to: My Family and Other Animals, by Gerald Durrell.

Thank you for being part of my things. Stay safe.
