Long Blog maybe with TMI

Some happy (and not) things from today, Thursday:

  • First, work stuff.  Yesterday something happened that made me feel like I was either non-existent or being ignored.  Chances are good that the person really didn't hear me from three feet away in a very noisy building.  Anyhow, I'm going to do my best to put that behind me.  Today I learned that I somehow made the list as one of the Associates of the Month.  For whatever reason they updated it to this month yesterday and I don't tend to look at it, not expecting to be there.  The associates are supposed to vote for associates.  The one time I tried to vote I had problems with the system.  I guess I should try again.  Anyhow, for some unknown reason, I get a closer parking spot for the rest of the month.
  • On my Facebook today, while on break at work, I posted that I am not invisible.  This was said out of frustration (see above) but meant to be positive.  The responses I received have been lovely and heartfelt.  I'm so grateful for the wonderful people in my life.
  • There has been another problem in my life that I have been having minor panic attacks over whenever I think of it.  My ex boyfriend passed away a few months ago and I recently found out that I was still his beneficiary on his life insurance.  This was a problem.  Today, I finally talked with the insurance company and I will be able to switch the benefits to his daughter.  This is a weight off my shoulders.  It seemed wrong to accept it even though I planned to give it to her anyway.
  • According to Google Maps I traveled the equivalent of half way around the world last year!  In 2022 though, I went the equivalent of 72% around the world.  I think I have new goals for this year.  🤣

  • Keziah was interviewed for a radio show today about the store.  I'm excited to listen to it.  I'm not sure when it will air.
  • Winston, the orange tabby, likes to rest on the back of the couch, preferably between a person and the radiator.  He likes being warm. I like it when he helps keep me warm.  This cat used to seem mad often.  He is becoming much more lovable.

Currently listening to: My Family and Other Animals, by Gerald Durrell.

Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.
