Weaving

Somehow, I had energy during parts of my day.  I'm not sure where the energy came from, it wasn't from a lot of sleep.  Here are some happy Sunday things:

  • Dishes, other people's laundry, and random cleaning around the house got done.
  • With about twelve days to go, I have picked up my weaving to try to complete the band before January 26th.  I stopped progress on it back in October, partially because of back pain.  I'm being very careful by only weaving in 15 minute time slots that I am spreading out (a lot) with other things during the day.  I'm also taking the time to do some physical therapy after each time slot.

  • Fifteen minutes seems like such a small amount of time.  It is an amount that I can picture that doesn't overwhelm me.  Today I spun the wheel to clean my bedroom for fifteen minutes and landed on Laundry Area.  I'm pretty good about folding and putting away clean clothes out of the dryer.  I am not as good when it comes to taking care of the clothes that I hang to dry.  The pile was rather large.  Fifteen minutes wasn't enough to reach the bottom, but I made a good dent.  I folded or hung for fifteen minutes and then took about another five or so putting things into drawers.  Here are before and after shots.

You can see that there is a window!

  • In the afternoon I decided to take a walk.  Earlier I had looked out and seen bright sunshine.  When I looked out while getting my shoes on, it was overcast and looking darker than it should.  By the time I had my jacket on it was starting to snow.  By the time I was outside, the snow was heavy.  Before I was ten minutes down the road, an alert on my phone let me know there was a weather advisory and white-out conditions.  I was walking out in a snow squall.  I survived.  Best parts?  The snow flying into my mouth uninvited, and watching the melted snow on the rim of my glasses go back and forth every step I took.

Thank you for being part of my things. Stay safe.
