Photo Day

Happy Friday!

  • Every year, a little before Memorial Day, members of my family visit cemeteries and plant flowers at relatives' gravestones.  There is one, Ida Webster, that my mother and cousin, Shirley, insisted we plant there.  Now that they have passed, the rest of us don't actually remember why or how she was related.  Today I was going through pictures and found a picture of her!  Now I have a face to imagine even though I never would have met her.  Honestly, I think Ida passed in 1938, my mom was born in 1937 and Shirley in 1936, I wonder how much they remembered?

  • Going through photos I thought about how film cameras were often only used on holidays and special occasions.  When I think about the quantity of pictures I take now and how much it would cost to buy and develop the film for the same amount of pictures, I feel like I'd be broke.  I know I would be drowning in photos!  I love having a camera as part of my phone to be able to capture moments whenever I want.  Here's a cat!

  • Most of my day was spent at the studio either going through old photos or crocheting.  The best part was that my friend Amy came up to visit me and help go through the photos.  Other friends also stopped by and it was Craft Night.

Here are some memories I found today:

This is me, I think the back said 1968.

My mom from 1972 maybe?

My cousin and I in the tub.  Before 1968...

My parents and family on my parents wedding day.

Yesterday I finished listening to: The Blue Zones of Happiness: Lessons from the World's Happiest People, by Dan Buettner.

Currently listening to Lessons in Chemistry, by Bonnie Garmus.

Still reading the book I didn't intend to, Saving Nora.  The author appears to be Josh Williams.

Thank you for being part of my happy things.  Stay safe.
