High Water
Some happy things from today:
- We were out of milk this morning so Keziah and I went out for breakfast. Outside the window where we sat and across the parking lot there is a line of trees. I noticed that one of the trees, the largest, seems to be dying. It is possible the tree is just lacking leaves. However, that mottled tree, probably because of its location, seems very beautiful to me. It stands, old and fading among the others. Tall and bare, I'm sure it is still home to many insects and other creatures. It was a nice resting spot for crows as I sat and had my breakfast. Writing this in the evening, I wish I had gotten a closer look at that tree.
- Keziah and I went to an SCA event. There were a few people getting awards that we wanted to see. We only stayed for a little while and I forgot to take pictures during most of court. It was good to visit with friends.
- On the way home, the Highway was next to the Merrimac River. We have had rain and the snow is melting so the river is high. Many thanks to Keziah for taking these pictures while I drove.
