It was a long day with many things that happened. Here are some happy things:
- It is sometime after midnight when I first step outside and experience fresh air. There is the slightest breeze, the moon is close to full and everything feels open and clean. It was a lovely start to my day.
- This one needs more information...
Background info part 1: I work in a distribution center where packages come in and we sort them to be delivered to customers. We don't put things into boxes, but sometimes things are damaged and we repackage them in the Problem Solve area into new packaging. For the last few months the packing supplies haven't been getting replenished. We have been making due with small envelopes, really small boxes and really big boxes. We have gone through a lot of tape when we should be replacing a box or envelope.
Background info part 2: There is a person I work with sometimes in Problem Solve that works there more than I and knows a lot. Today I was alone there, needed help, and that person joined me. He was not happy. He didn't say anything, but it was obvious. I've never had a problem with him, but I have heard others have. I just try to be nice and it has been fine.
The happy part: Towards the end of my shift (I left early) I was getting problem packages and noticed what appeared to be packing supplies being delivered. I got back to my desk and my co-worker was smiling saying, “Look what we got!” I feel I responded appropriately. Then he was something like, “Look at this cool book stand, it tore through the envelope they packed it in, but I have a BOX I can repack it in.” This problem had obviously been wearing on him. Another quote, “You have no idea how happy this makes me, Jeanne.” I'm not sure I realized he knew my name. It was amazing to see him so happy.
- I left work early to join with family in planting flowers on family members' graves. We do this every year before Memorial Day. It was wonderful to see family, I wish I had taken more pictures. We visited seven cemeteries (I think…) and had lunch and ice cream at Hodgies. Another nice thing is talking about memories and genealogy. I also talked with a guy in one of the cemeteries (he was a caretaker of the cemetery) that knew some of my relatives. We may have been related? It was neat.

Not everyone knew I was taking the picture. |

That little model of the building to the right is a lending library. It is very cool that they match. |

There is a blue heron somewhere... |
- We drove home through some amazing torrential rain, lightning, and thunder.
