Working Day

Some happy things from today:

  • At work we started learning how to use some new scanning/inducting equipment.  I was asked what I thought about it and gave my opinions.  In hindsight, the problems I felt I experienced today seem much less frustrating than the old equipment.  It will take a little getting used to.  For me, it was great to hear that I was the second fastest on the line today with this new equipment.
  • Also at work, they fed us again.  Before I left I got some macaroni and cheese.  I chose to bring it home to eat.  It was yummy.
  • After Gideon got home from school he and I played some games on our phones.  Not together, but exchanging information and clues on the same games.  Gideon has started to enjoy the mini crossword puzzles through the New York Times.  He likes to ask for help or guidance when he needs it.  It is fun working with him to complete these.
  • One more work thing.  There are decorations all around the building for Pride month.  The following picture is a tabletop decoration from the table I usually have lunch at.

Happy New Year!  Welcome to my happy blog.  Here I try to find things from my day that brought a glimmer of joy to me.  I hope by sharing these things, that others may find some happiness as well. Here are today's happy things: Staying up with Gideon and Zed to bring in the new year. Keziah is out of isolation from having covid.  It was so good to see her again this morning! While out on a walk a car drove by with the convertible top down.  It was 33 degrees and ice was formed on puddles.  I think the people must have been happy, enjoying the fresh air and breeze.  It makes me happy to think they were having fun. My walk was almost three and a half mile's long today.  It seems like it has been quite a while since I walked that distance for me and not work.  I'm hoping this first walk of the year will inspire me to get out there again and explore.  I saw bluebirds, ducks, squirrels, and maybe juncos?  I couldn’t get close enough to make a positive identification.  There was

Wow, Long and PICTURES

What a wonderful day!  Here are some happy highlights and a bunch of pictures. My friend Stephanie (I got her permission to use her name) and I started out later than planned but Magalloway Mountain wasn't too long of a drive from where we camped.  After driving over miles of dirt roads we ended up at the trailhead.  We chose to go up the Bobcat Trail and down the Coot Trail.  The Bobcat Trail is a narrow trail that doubled as a small brook in places. 😉  When we got to the top of the mountain there was a trail to an overlook and we went there first.  The overlook was over a cliff, but it was beautiful and we could see so far.  The tower view was also spectacular and gave us a 360 degree view.  I don't know where the borders are, but from where we stood in New Hampshire we could see Canada and Maine, probably Vermont, too. The Coot Trail was wider and probably could be used by vehicles that can handle steep hills with rocks and gravel when maintaining the buildings on the top.

North Country

Happy things from today: This morning, Nanni caught a mouse.  She was rewarded greatly.  No pictures, you're welcome.  😁 My friend and I headed for the mountains a little after 11:30 this morning.  We had a little miscommunication when it came to the plans which meant we stopped for lunch and to pick up a few things on the way.  Our plan is to go to two fire towers that are in the northern part of New Hampshire.  Along with that, we hope to explore and have fun along the way. On the way, we caught site of a another fire tower.  It is one that I visited back in 2021.  I hadn't realized it was along the way.  The tower itself was closed for renovations.  We had a nice walk up Mount Prospect.  We could have driven, but it was a good, short (about a mile) hike up the Heritage Trail. Tonight we are staying at a campground along Lake Francis.  It is a large lake and the Connecticut River feeds it and leaves it.  The river is, of course, smaller than it is in Connecticut.  There is a
