Berries!

Downsizing isn't happening like I would like it to.  I did get some things organized today though, and a shirt that I wore today will be going into the donation pile after it is washed.   Here are some happy things from today:

  • This morning Keziah, Gideon, and I went berry picking at Turkey Hill Farm.  We picked raspberries, golden raspberries, and blueberries.  They are delicious.  The raspberry picking was great.  Blueberry picking was good, but it will be better over this week.





  • This afternoon I went to archery practice.  I didn't shoot as well as I have been, but it wasn't horrible.  I left my bow strung and I'm going to try to exercise with it this week.  I also got a  lot of Pennsic planning done with the person who will be taking over the land planning for me this year.  I'm so thankful to have some wonderful helpers.

  • When I got home Keziah and Zed were watching Kiki's Delivery Service.  It is a  wonderful movie.  'Wholesome', is the word Zeke used.  Keziah saw a lot of  herself in the character of Kiki tonight.  Growing up, she wanted to be like Ursula, the artist from the movie.  I see some of her in both of the characters.

Final Post for 2024

--Here are some happy things from this last day of the year: It was a working day for me.  It was busy and I left early.  I had three and a half hours of PTO and I decided to use them.  There was internal guilt, but everyone I told that I had PTO to use, agreed that I needed to use my time. Since I was home a little early, I went to DIY Craft & Thrift and helped finish up the store reset.  The store looks great and somehow seems to be more spacious.   After a nap, I went to the party Keziah and Zed were having.  The theme has to do with toasting in the New Year with jam.  Jam-bor-brie is what they called it this year.  I got to spend time with friends visiting and playing games.  I learned two new games; The Isle of Cats and Dixit.  We also played Carcassonne.   It was a lot of fun.  I need to play games more often. Sore Thursday

Here are some happy Thursday things: In an attempt to make a long story short, last week I fell and things didn't seem too sore.  Then I went hiking and backpacking, again, not too bad.  Follow this with work where I needed to get up and down from the floor and now I am having enough aches and pains that I've been taking ibuprofen.  Why is this part of my happy list?  The ibuprofen worked.  It wasn't perfect, but while on it, there was a lot of improvement.  So much so that around 5.5 hours after taking it, I could tell the pills had worn off.  Okay, maybe the story wasn't short.  🙂 I remembered to mend the seam on the gown I'm planning to wear Saturday.   It needs a little more done, but not today. Wow, Long and PICTURES

What a wonderful day!  Here are some happy highlights and a bunch of pictures. My friend Stephanie (I got her permission to use her name) and I started out later than planned but Magalloway Mountain wasn't too long of a drive from where we camped.  After driving over miles of dirt roads we ended up at the trailhead.  We chose to go up the Bobcat Trail and down the Coot Trail.  The Bobcat Trail is a narrow trail that doubled as a small brook in places. 😉  When we got to the top of the mountain there was a trail to an overlook and we went there first.  The overlook was over a cliff, but it was beautiful and we could see so far.  The tower view was also spectacular and gave us a 360 degree view.  I don't know where the borders are, but from where we stood in New Hampshire we could see Canada and Maine, probably Vermont, too.
