If It's Tuesday I Have to Work

Happy Tuesday! 

  • All day I had to remind myself that it was Tuesday and not Wednesday.  Working yesterday threw off my days!  I was assigned to the Problem Solve area today.  Even though it can be frustrating sometimes, it is still my favorite place to work at this job.  I think part of the reason is that I get to use my brain more.  
  • At home I got most of my things packed for Pennsic.  Tomorrow I'll double check my lists, but I think all I have left are those things that need to wait until the end.
  • Keziah hurt her leg, this is not good, and doesn't make me happy.  The doctor says it is a strain, maybe with some minor tearing.  They want her to use crutches if possible for the next few weeks to help it heal.  Keziah put out a call to her friends to see if she could borrow some.  I remembered that there were some in the cellar when we moved here.  This resulted in some jokes about not wanting to use the haunted crutches that were abandoned long ago in this old house.  It is the joking around about them that makes me happy.  I feel like there is a short story that could be written about haunted crutches.   If only I had the time!  😆 🩼👻

  • How cool is it that the log holding up part of our living room is most likely close to three hundred years old?!  It is possible the living room is an addition which would make it more like two hundred years old, but still.  I think the house was built in 1754?  Another time I will have to check the date on the front of the house.
  • There is another important task I need to complete before going away.  My Google storage is almost full so I need to back up photos.  I've started the process today and hope to get more done tomorrow.

Final Post for 2024

--Here are some happy things from this last day of the year: It was a working day for me.  It was busy and I left early.  I had three and a half hours of PTO and I decided to use them.  There was internal guilt, but everyone I told that I had PTO to use, agreed that I needed to use my time. Since I was home a little early, I went to DIY Craft & Thrift and helped finish up the store reset.  The store looks great and somehow seems to be more spacious.   After a nap, I went to the party Keziah and Zed were having.  The theme has to do with toasting in the New Year with jam.  Jam-bor-brie is what they called it this year.  I got to spend time with friends visiting and playing games.  I learned two new games; The Isle of Cats and Dixit.  We also played Carcassonne.   It was a lot of fun.  I need to play games more often. Sore Thursday

Here are some happy Thursday things: In an attempt to make a long story short, last week I fell and things didn't seem too sore.  Then I went hiking and backpacking, again, not too bad.  Follow this with work where I needed to get up and down from the floor and now I am having enough aches and pains that I've been taking ibuprofen.  Why is this part of my happy list?  The ibuprofen worked.  It wasn't perfect, but while on it, there was a lot of improvement.  So much so that around 5.5 hours after taking it, I could tell the pills had worn off.  Okay, maybe the story wasn't short.  🙂 I remembered to mend the seam on the gown I'm planning to wear Saturday.   It needs a little more done, but not today. Wow, Long and PICTURES

What a wonderful day!  Here are some happy highlights and a bunch of pictures. My friend Stephanie (I got her permission to use her name) and I started out later than planned but Magalloway Mountain wasn't too long of a drive from where we camped.  After driving over miles of dirt roads we ended up at the trailhead.  We chose to go up the Bobcat Trail and down the Coot Trail.  The Bobcat Trail is a narrow trail that doubled as a small brook in places. 😉  When we got to the top of the mountain there was a trail to an overlook and we went there first.  The overlook was over a cliff, but it was beautiful and we could see so far.  The tower view was also spectacular and gave us a 360 degree view.  I don't know where the borders are, but from where we stood in New Hampshire we could see Canada and Maine, probably Vermont, too.
