Paint

Happy Wednesday!

  • Other than still being tired, work went well.  I have applied for the position of Learning Ambassador again and I don't expect that I will get it.  They really need people who are willing to work weekends, and I am not that person.  I still put myself out there, and I am happy I did.
  • At home I took a few minutes to see what was new around the yard.  From my limited view, I think the staghorn sumac might be beating the Japanese knotweed.  Only time will tell.  Currently the two plants have grown so much the trail I had a year ago is about gone.  Considering when we moved here the back had been partially deforested for lumber, I'm glad that is no longer a problem.
Can you see the trail?

The sumac is towering over the knotweed.

  • There is at least a little bit of jewelweed that has survived the influx of staghorn sumac and Japanese knotweed.
Jewelweed, or impatiens, used to be along one side of the trail.  This plant is about ten feet or so from where I expected it to be.  I didn't try to go down the trail.
  • Titles are hard for me.  I chose to title today's blog 'Paint.'  When I thought I was finished writing, with only a title left, my mind wandered.  I stared off in my room trying for something unique. The only thing I had was Wednesday.  Then, as I looked at my wall I yearned to paint it more.  My room is not yet finished.  There are other rooms I want to paint.  Buying more paint has been on my mind.  I have a few other things that need to happen first.  Painting is calling me, though.  And so I have written more, and titled today's blog 'Paint.'

Finished listening to: Jacob T. Marley, by R. William Bennet.

Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.
