Really Late Night

Happy things from today:

  • The apron that Keziah started the other day, I finished today.  It rained all morning which made it easy to stay sitting in camp and stitching.  Keziah did a wonderful job with the gathers on the waist.  I stitched the apron ties and did all the hems.  In the past, hand stitching hasn't been my favorite thing.  This war I have kind of enjoyed it.  I think that is because I am stitching with other people around to talk with and bounce ideas off of.

  • There are two small children that will be in camp off and on during the day.   They are adorable and interacted with me today.  I'm a person who prefers to let the child come to me rather than me to a child.  Sure, when they are babies, I may ask to hold them, but when they are a little older, I prefer that the child has the say, when possible, as to who they interact with.  Anyhow, I enjoyed playing a little with the little kids.
  • There was a short court in which a friend received a writ to become a member of the Order of the Pelican.  It is well deserved and I look forward to being able to be there, in a few weeks, when she accepts this honor.

  • Opening Ceremonies happened in the large battlefield by the castle.  I had some people bring me up a chair so I wasn't too far from the Royals and could hear things.  There is a lot of tradition that the SCA has built into this part of the game and it can be fun to watch.

A rainbow while waiting to process to Opening Ceremonies.

Another rainbow just before the end of Opening Ceremonies

Pretty clouds

  • After dinner I went out walking with some friends from camp.  I was out way too late, but I had a very good time.

Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.
