Stamp Posters

Happy Wednesday things:

  • It was a weird night at work.  One of the conveyors broke down so we had to improvise for a little while.  Thankfully it was fixed and we were able to resume and still get everything out on time.  I think my attitude about work is improving and I'm happy about that.
  • In trying to move forward with my downsizing efforts I took a few minutes to go through some more papers. I've added to my shred pile and recycle bin.  Since tomorrow is trash day I even took everything out of the house and put it into the bins.  There is one thing that I found that I'm not sure what to do with.  I have an envelope full of Post Office stamp posters from the late 1960's to early 1970's.  I'd rather they went to someone that wants them but I don't know how to find that person. 

  • There is a place in my little mother-in-law apartment that I have been avoiding-the refrigerator.  When the previous person left it wasn't cleaned and still has some food stuff in it.  I've been considering just replacing it, but that costs money.  Today I took a small step and threw away a few things, wiped down two of the door shelves, and put some baking soda inside.  Interestingly, it doesn't seem to smell bad.  Even so, when I used the freezer to make ice, it tasted horrible.   Baby steps are still steps forward. 👣

Wow, Long and PICTURES

What a wonderful day!  Here are some happy highlights and a bunch of pictures. My friend Stephanie (I got her permission to use her name) and I started out later than planned but Magalloway Mountain wasn't too long of a drive from where we camped.  After driving over miles of dirt roads we ended up at the trailhead.  We chose to go up the Bobcat Trail and down the Coot Trail.  The Bobcat Trail is a narrow trail that doubled as a small brook in places. 😉  When we got to the top of the mountain there was a trail to an overlook and we went there first.  The overlook was over a cliff, but it was beautiful and we could see so far.  The tower view was also spectacular and gave us a 360 degree view.  I don't know where the borders are, but from where we stood in New Hampshire we could see Canada and Maine, probably Vermont, too. Final Post for 2024

--Here are some happy things from this last day of the year: It was a working day for me.  It was busy and I left early.  I had three and a half hours of PTO and I decided to use them.  There was internal guilt, but everyone I told that I had PTO to use, agreed that I needed to use my time. Since I was home a little early, I went to DIY Craft & Thrift and helped finish up the store reset.  The store looks great and somehow seems to be more spacious.   After a nap, I went to the party Keziah and Zed were having.  The theme has to do with toasting in the New Year with jam.  Jam-bor-brie is what they called it this year.  I got to spend time with friends visiting and playing games.  I learned two new games; The Isle of Cats and Dixit.  We also played Carcassonne.   It was a lot of fun.  I need to play games more often. Otter's Welcome

Some happy things from today: There is a picture I have from a few years ago of my adult children with lilacs in their hair.  This included Bel's generous beard.  Keziah picked some this morning so we could have some in our hair at an SCA event in Massachusetts, Otter's Welcome.  This is an event that is aimed with newcomers in mind.  There is a little bit of most categories to do or observe.  Keziah ran children's point.  I visited with a few people.   Keziah In the middle of the day I started falling asleep.  I ended up napping in the car for a little while.  There was a class I wanted to take, but it was when I was resting. This is also when the weather decided to rain.  That break was needed and I think I enjoyed the rest of the day more because of it.
