Storm

Some happy things from today:

  • Yesterday I wrote about applying for a position as Learning Ambassador. Today the Learning Coordinator asked me and two other potential candidates to train some of the new hires in the Pick & Stage process.  I really enjoyed it.  Unfortunately, I still think my schedule will be a big enough factor with getting the position that I won't get it.  It was a fun diversion from the normal routine.
  • It also inspired me to look at different options and training I could get through my job.  If only I knew what I want to do when I grow up!  🤣  One weird thing that has been on my mind lately is how the company I work for is international.  Theoretically, I think I could relocate to different parts of the world.  I actually looked up costs of living in some other countries today.  It is more expensive to live in Iceland than the US, but less in Spain.  What if I was brave enough to move, temporarily, to a different country, work there, and explore on my weekends?  😱  I think I would miss my family and friends.  But it can be fun to dream.
  • At home I ate, started laundry, and went to bed.  I got about five hours of sleep before Keziah woke me for dinner.  This sleep was deep and good and I awoke with a little bit of energy.  I was able to get a total of three loads in the washing machine and two loads dry or hanging to dry today.  Most of my Pennsic laundry is clean now.  Yay!
  • Before taking that five hour ‘nap’, there was a rumbling in the clouds and the world around me started to darken.  I fell asleep to the sounds of rain hitting the windows and distant rumbling.  I learned later that there might have been some hail too.

There's a storm a'comin'.

Started listening to: The Farthest Shore, by Ursula K. Le Guin.

Thank you for being part of my happy things. Stay safe.
