Halloween Howl

 Here are some happy things from this Halloween Howl day:

  • This morning I got up early for my yearly doctor's appointment with my endocrinologist.  I have Hashimoto's Disease and get my thyroid scanned and checked every year.  That is, until next time.  My scans haven't been showing any signs of change so I get to wait 18 months for the next appointment.  Yay!
  • While walking through the grocery store I was told by two different people that they liked my shirt.  I only wear it around Halloween.

  • Every year Concord closes up part of Main Street so the children can go trick or treating at the stores (Halloween Howl).  Keziah’s store, DIY Craft & Thrift, is part of this area.  This year she brought tables outside for the kids to stop at instead of having then come into the store.   The store remained open and became a quiet place that people would come into.  I stayed in that quiet place.  I wish I could say that I helped, but mostly I hung out.  If I spent more time at the store, maybe I would be better at the register.  Anyhow, it was fun to see the costumes that came into the store.

  • While at the store I got some embroidery floss and fingerloop braided two short cords for myself.  I then used them to practice making a new-to-me knot.  






  • For Inktober I attempted to draw the prompt expedition.

Final Post for 2024

--Here are some happy things from this last day of the year: It was a working day for me.  It was busy and I left early.  I had three and a half hours of PTO and I decided to use them.  There was internal guilt, but everyone I told that I had PTO to use, agreed that I needed to use my time. Since I was home a little early, I went to DIY Craft & Thrift and helped finish up the store reset.  The store looks great and somehow seems to be more spacious.   After a nap, I went to the party Keziah and Zed were having.  The theme has to do with toasting in the New Year with jam.  Jam-bor-brie is what they called it this year.  I got to spend time with friends visiting and playing games.  I learned two new games; The Isle of Cats and Dixit.  We also played Carcassonne.   It was a lot of fun.  I need to play games more often. Drinking Water

Some happy things from today: At work, I was assigned to the Problem Solve area.  This is always good.  However, I also got to train someone else for that task.  I'm not a Learning Ambassador, but it was nice to train someone. At home, I chose down time.  I even took a nap.  The alarm I set to wake me so I could get Gideon at school, did not keep me awake.  Thankfully, Zed was home and woke me up.  Hopefully I'll be able to fall asleep when I need to.  Gideon wants to start an after school improv club.  Nanni, our brown tabby, is still not as happy as we would like.  She was drinking water this afternoon and I was told she ate some today.  These are very good things.  Drinking water. Boxes

Here are a few happy things from my very tired today: When I got to work this morning the coworker I wrote about yesterday was entering the building at the same time as me.  I asked him if he was still happy about the boxes.  He told me how he had spent time yesterday organizing everything for ease of use.  I'm happy that he is happy. The lilacs have a short lifespan.  They still look and smell nice.  This might be my last picture of them though.   There are other flowers that will bloom soon.  I do love the lilacs. Lilacs TF sent me a package.  It is a llama mug that changes color with warm liquid.   The mug is covered with little pieces of Styrofoam.  Apparently the trip was bumpy.  Still, it arrived safely.      ☮ Currently listening to: Dune , by Frank Herbert.
