Kisses

Here are some happy things from Sunday:

  • The internet rabbit hole this morning was a hypothyroid video about which foods to avoid and which to eat.  It was also educational and was trying to sell a supplement.  I made a shopping list.  Then I did a little bit of shopping and included some of the food suggestions to maybe help my thyroid.  Some of my food shopping for the week is done, and that makes me happy.  I'm also loving the Candy Cane Kisses that are in the stores for the holidays.

  • One of the things I got was a gallon of milk for Keziah.  Unfortunately, it didn't fit in her refrigerator.  I put it in my refrigerator.  That would be the fridge that I have been avoiding cleaning since the apartment was emptied last fall, but not all of the stuff in the refrigerator, and I moved in this spring.  I have occasionally thrown things away to fill up a trash bag and done the tiniest bit of wiping down the easiest places.  Today I took it apart and cleaned it.  I didn't take a before picture, because nobody needs to see that.  I feel that it is usable now.  


  • When it was done and parts were drying, I took a walk.  Last year for Christmas Zed got me a light up vest to wear when I walk in the dark.  I haven't been able to find it since the move.  I do have a hat that I added fairy lights to and put that on to walk down the sidewalk.  It wasn't too cold yet.  The air was fresh and felt good.  There was one house that was all ready for the holidays.  When I got home, I looked in one more place for that vest.  I found it!  It is on the charger for next time.

Final Post for 2024

--Here are some happy things from this last day of the year: It was a working day for me.  It was busy and I left early.  I had three and a half hours of PTO and I decided to use them.  There was internal guilt, but everyone I told that I had PTO to use, agreed that I needed to use my time. Since I was home a little early, I went to DIY Craft & Thrift and helped finish up the store reset.  The store looks great and somehow seems to be more spacious.   After a nap, I went to the party Keziah and Zed were having.  The theme has to do with toasting in the New Year with jam.  Jam-bor-brie is what they called it this year.  I got to spend time with friends visiting and playing games.  I learned two new games; The Isle of Cats and Dixit.  We also played Carcassonne.   It was a lot of fun.  I need to play games more often. Sore Thursday

Here are some happy Thursday things: In an attempt to make a long story short, last week I fell and things didn't seem too sore.  Then I went hiking and backpacking, again, not too bad.  Follow this with work where I needed to get up and down from the floor and now I am having enough aches and pains that I've been taking ibuprofen.  Why is this part of my happy list?  The ibuprofen worked.  It wasn't perfect, but while on it, there was a lot of improvement.  So much so that around 5.5 hours after taking it, I could tell the pills had worn off.  Okay, maybe the story wasn't short.  🙂 I remembered to mend the seam on the gown I'm planning to wear Saturday.   It needs a little more done, but not today. Wow, Long and PICTURES

What a wonderful day!  Here are some happy highlights and a bunch of pictures. My friend Stephanie (I got her permission to use her name) and I started out later than planned but Magalloway Mountain wasn't too long of a drive from where we camped.  After driving over miles of dirt roads we ended up at the trailhead.  We chose to go up the Bobcat Trail and down the Coot Trail.  The Bobcat Trail is a narrow trail that doubled as a small brook in places. 😉  When we got to the top of the mountain there was a trail to an overlook and we went there first.  The overlook was over a cliff, but it was beautiful and we could see so far.  The tower view was also spectacular and gave us a 360 degree view.  I don't know where the borders are, but from where we stood in New Hampshire we could see Canada and Maine, probably Vermont, too.
