Working
For what seems like the first time in a long time I didn’t reach my step goal while at work. I haven’t maintained a streak in quite some time, but at work, I would at least hit the 10,000 step goal for a day. Today, I helped with Day One Orientation of new hires at work. That involved lots of sitting and watching videos. My FitBit is also in my pocket instead of my wrist since the strap broke last night as I was getting ready for bed. It was a good day. Here are some happy things:

- Sometimes people from HR hand out snacks. Apparently that happened today during break, but I wasn’t there. However, while working with the new hires the person from HR came by after everyone else had a break, and handed me a packet of Dunkaroos. He tried to do it slyly, but failed. I found it very special that he remembered that I liked that particular sweet. When I was able to take my break, the Dunkaroos were very welcome.
- We use QR codes at work to denote different locations, like bags or end caps. The stickers they are on tend to get hit or worn and stop working. One of my tasks today was to replace the worn and torn ones. I had at least three people come up to me and tell me how happy they were that I was doing that. Enough of them were no longer scanning that it was a cause of frustration for a few people.
- There was also a Safety Committee Meeting at work. I suggested putting a utility sink near the Problem Solve Area and was told that was a brilliant idea and that the landlord would most likely say no. I was expecting the no, I was pleasantly surprised that my idea was considered brilliant. I'm not sure I agree with that level of goodness, but I'm thankful it was at least received as a good idea, though not practical.
- November 20th is my mom’s birthday. I wanted to write a wonderful memory. Instead I keep thinking about what she might be thinking about my life were she to be here still. I don’t know. But let me tell you about the book I am listening to. The only reason I chose to listen to Daindreth’s Assassin is because I have been enjoying some shorts that the author makes that include the Book Goblin. I think my mom would have enjoyed the Book Goblin. I also think she would have used that as a model for a Craft Goblin. This is giving me ideas...
