Slow Saturday

It wasn't a very exciting day.  Compared to my last two weekends, today was bland.  Here are some happy things from today:

  • Much of my day I stayed in my room with Netflix and stitching.  I finished my task on the garment and it is going back to its maker to be completed.  Yay!
  • Between the apartment and the house is some goldenrod that I've been meaning to pull.  There were at least three bees pollinating it when I walked by.  I'm glad the bees were enjoying it.  I'll try to pull it before it goes to seed.

  • Later in the day I took some time to shuffle through some papers.  Some are in the shred pile, but many are in the recycle bin.  A tiny step toward downsizing was achieved!

  • I've opened my window and turned off the air conditioner.   There is occasional fresh air wafting in on the breeze.  Rain is gently falling and tapping on the house and yard.

Two happy things from yesterday that I forgot: I finished listening to The Book of Margery Kempe.   It gave me some insight on life as a woman in the middle ages, though not as much as I'd hoped.   It did mention that she visited Julian of Norwich, and so I am revisiting Julian with the book I started listening to today. With some of the raspberries we picked yesterday Keziah made a sekanjabin.  She also made a lemon-mint sekanjabin.  Here is a random site with a recipe for reference purposes.  I don't know what Keziah used for a recipe, and the link I posted is a different flavor.  Today my happy things include: While out and about this morning Keziah noticed a cloud that looks like it has a hole in it.  I got a picture, but there are lots of wires in it. Here are some happy things from this Friday with flurries: As I write this, I have decided that I need sleep more than I need the money and I am not going to volunteer for a shift tonight. Instead of sleeping this afternoon, I watched this season's last episode of The Rings of Power . Had I slept, I could have gone in for a few hours. I'm happy to stay home instead. All year I have been getting email reminders to get a new pair of work shoes. The company pretty much pays for one pair of shoes if we buy them through Zappos and don't spend too much. I don't remember the allotment amount. Today I finally ordered a pair to replace my current ones. They should be delivered right after Christmas. While I was sitting watching things this afternoon, I heard what sounded like a plow go by. I was surprised to see that it was, in fact, a plow going by and it was snowing. Car Shopping

 Happy things from today: The initial plan I had for today was to help out Keziah at the store.  Unfortunately, I did something to my back, in a different way than a few months ago.  By the time I stretched, took the ibuprofen, and finished the things I needed to do around the house, Keziah was off doing other errands.  It took a little bit, but I'm happy to say the ibuprofen seemed to help, at least temporarily.  Instead of helping at the store, I went to the studio and worked on photos again.  My task is to find photos of Keziah and her SCA life.  I scanned some yesterday and organized them on the computer today.  Here is one of my favorites. The other task I managed today was to go to a couple of used car places.  I test drove a 2008 Volvo.  I'm going to do a little more research before choosing anything.   I'm pleased I was able to do this.  Here are some photos I took while I was driving back from car shopping.  ...
